Determine the amount of nucleic acids without alteration

The metabolic dysfunctions leading to a destabilization of the cellular system on which the term global is death. However, this mortality does not necessarily affects the whole cell or tissue culture. Precisely quantify this mortality is a crucial information to assess the state of cell lysis, whether related to a physical, chemical or biological.

 

We developed an assay in the extracellular fluid or in the culture medium by assaying the amount of nucleic acids released from lysed cells. Our technique is extremely sensitive, does not alter the cells alive as do conventional techniques (MTT test). Very few consumer of plasma or culture medium, it allows further experimentation on the cells alive. Through iterative levies on the same well or in the same culture flask, it is possible to determine the start time of cell death, to quantify the amplitude, and know when the necrotic process has ended .

 

Quantification of cell death is an important element of our integrative approach of metabolic studies.
